Our History
In 2016 SFAAFBC began with Pastors of 16 churches in San Francisco’s District 10. In 2017 they received a grant from the Meta Fund and support from San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) staff who provided technical assistance enabled the much-needed work to begin.
In January 2019, a group of faith-based leaders founded the San Francisco African American Faith‐Based Coalition, a non-profit established to address community issues including hunger, chronic health conditions, and unemployment.
